Halloween: Bridezilla & the Helpless Groom

We were not planning to do anything on Halloween this year.  I don't know how I ended up standing in a check-out line that wound through the aisles at Party City for some fuzzy devil horns, whipping out the entire eyeshadow palette, and digging the veil out of our wedding memory box which Wes had just moved to the back of storage.  Wes doesn't know how he ended up getting painted with fake blood, carving a pumpkin at two o'clock in the morning, and busting out his camera tripod and flash snoot for an impromptu photoshoot.

My coworker invited us to her Halloween party and we didn't really have a costume to wear and were too lazy to carve a jack-o-lantern, so we decided to just stay in and watch a scary movie instead.  Besides, we had a lot of stuff to clean up in our apartment.  But that was how this whole thing happened.  We were rattling off things to put away when Wes mentioned my wedding dress--that big white wad of organza that has been taking up far too much real estate in my side of the closet.

Boom.  There it was.  Wes joked that I could be Bridezilla;  I took that joke and ran with it - we both did.  I was excited to be able to get a second wear out of my wedding dress (without having to get remarried).  Wes was not so excited to have Sephora eyeshadow stippled around his right eye, but he wasted no time setting up a mini photo studio in our bedroom against our blackout curtains.  We took some pictures, and then we took second prize at the costume contest later that night!  It was hilarious.

Silver medalists in the costume contest!

Randomly craved tacos after the party - only at Pasadena's best!
And finally, this is how we trick-or-treated.  Got the pumpkin flavor, of course!

So, I'm sure that even though I was a Bridezilla for Halloween, I was really quite the opposite at our wedding three months ago... Right, Wes??
